The album featured production from several of hip hop's top producers such as Kevin "She'kspere" Briggs and Irv Gotti, as well as several high-profile guest appearances from the likes of Nas and Ja Rule. Despite the big names that appeared on the album, Dear Diary failed to become a commercial success, only making it to 86 on the R&B charts. Its lead single "New Millennium (What Cha Wanna Do)" also failed to find much success, peaking at 28 on the rap singles chart.
